David Barber
Principal – Asset Management
David Barber joined Formation Real Estate in 2016 with almost 20 years of experience in commercial real estate brokerage and relocation services. His career began in industrial project leasing, which quickly led to a specialty in acquisitions and dispositions across DFW and Austin.
In 2011, David was recruited by a national relocation management company to manage Office and Industrial relocations. Over five years, he became a top producer and built a referral network that generated quality local, regional, and national business — drawing on the CRE relationships he’d spent years developing.
In late 2015, a former CRE client reached out and asked him to return. He soon connected with Formation Real Estate.
In 2017, a leasing client asked David to manage the industrial portfolio they’d just acquired as well. His background made it a natural fit. He said yes, and Formation Asset Management was born. Today, David oversees 745,475 SF across seven Texas counties, 289 tenants, and a portfolio running at ±94% occupancy. He is a CPM Candidate and is heavily involved in Formation’s commercial investment acquisitions and dispositions.
David holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Texas A&M University.
